FAQ
Is my GeoJSON uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser. Your data stays on your device.
What GeoJSON inputs do you accept?
FeatureCollection, a single Feature, or a bare geometry object. Bare geometries are wrapped into a Feature for export.
Why do I sometimes get multiple placemarks?
If Split placemarks is enabled, MultiPoint, MultiLineString, MultiPolygon, and GeometryCollection are split into multiple placemarks.
Can I control placemark names?
Yes. You can keep properties.name (with fallback to an index), force index-based names, or remove names entirely.
Do you preserve GeoJSON properties?
Properties are carried into KML, but KML is string-based in many viewers. Nested objects and arrays may be stringified. Styling and advanced KML features are not preserved.
What CRS does KML use?
KML expects WGS84 longitude and latitude (EPSG:4326). GeoJSON does not reliably include CRS. If your coordinates are projected, reproject before converting.
What happens to invalid features?
Features without a valid geometry are skipped. The tool shows how many were skipped so you can spot bad rows.
Can I preview the result?
Yes. The map preview shows the normalized GeoJSON that was used to generate KML.
